Born in Switzerland and a Hawai‘i resident for over 34 years, Domenica Sattler is a ceramic artist known for her expressive forms and intentional design. Her passion for ceramics began the moment she first worked with clay, and it has remained her creative focus ever since.
For more than two decades, she has volunteered in the University of Hawai‘i Ceramics Department, where she continues to support other artists and grow her own practice through both academic study and hands-on exploration. With professional backgrounds in both nursing and acting, Domenica brings a deeply human and empathetic lens to her work.
Her sculptures and Ikebana vases have been featured in numerous juried exhibitions, including the Honolulu Museum of Art, the Hawai‘i Craftsmen Annual Exhibitions, and themed group shows at the UH Commons Gallery. In 2019, her sculpture Me Too was acquired by the Honolulu Museum of Art.
Domenica’s work invites reflection and presence—balancing strength, elegance, and emotional depth.
