Mark Brown is one of Hawaii’s premier award-winning Plein Air Artists. Plein Air artists paint their paintings entirely outside at the site of the painting subject. He teaches this method at the University of Hawaii and his work can be seen all throughout the Hawaiian Islands.Mark enjoys immersing himself in his art. He especially enjoys painting outdoors, and rises to the challenges posed by nature. The limited natural light inherent in Plein Air oil painting forces Mark to engross himself in each painting so as to capture the natural essence of his subject.
